I have a 300 amp alternator, digital battery separator and dual battery setup. After other pressing projects are finished I want to turn my attention to my power distribution/usage.
I realize I'm not putting out 300 amps ALL the time NOR that I might NEVER see the full 300 amps. PRESUMABLY...
I'm one of those guys who has an overhead and center console and think it's :quote:cool:quote: to feel like your in a cockpit. I have the triple gauge set up on my A pillar and will be adding some gauges on top of the dash and/or possibly over head. Just kicking around different ideas I came...
I will give a semi- condensed timeline leading up to the question (s) and keep the extra commentary to a minimum. A few years ago I was driving my 2002 Silverado from point A to point B. All kinds of noises started happening and I pulled to the side of the road. My transmission didn't have but a...
So while rounding up parts and fluids to do my t-case/trans swap I thought maybe I should swap out the u-joints even though they are "new" (replaced less then a year ago) and I came across a few things. ONE did Moog merge with or buy out a company call Precision? At the parts store that USED to...
I'm looking for the largest (or larger then my factory '02 Silverado) external tans cooler that I can mount in the factory location and use the quick connects. More power to those that have the aftermarket add on that you cut the factory lines and hose clamp rubber lines to it and it works fine...
I'm going through my um teenth transmission redo in my truck:frustration:. I was given a trans and t-case (all I had to do was remove them. THAT was a PITA because of the donor vehicle.:fume:)
I trust the 2 guys who gave the set up to me (they are like my brothers) it was rebuilt and ran fine...
The long and short of it is I am swapping out my trans AGAIN. I'm thinking in the long run I should look into going to school part time to learn how to build them and NOT trust ANYONE but me to rebuild.
Moving along. One of my little "brothers" had a donor vehicle he blew the head and fwonked...
i'm not sure how much info I need to include that's pertinent to my problem but, I will try to condense. I was working on my '02 Silvy (replacing the overflow tank) I used the headlights after dark for the last 2 nuts of the air breather box. The next morning I got pulled over for no DRIVER'S...
so I ordered a BAFX Products® - Bluetooth OBD2 scan tool off of Amazon. I've read several reviews and it seems it's a toss up between TouchScan and Torque Pro.
Do ya'll favor one over the other or have a better alternative? They both are about $5 each but, it seems Torque Pro has more plug...
My question is do the 97-04 Camaro Trans Am Corvette GM Ignition Coils give a better spark then the ones in the same year (s)/engine as the Silveardo vortecs?
I'm just curious as I was told they did. :dunno:
I'm hoping I didn't fWONk myself but, I have 2 coil packs failing my friend gave...
So I believe awhile back I posted this question but I will ask again. (If there is a thread I apologize I will look also:thumbs:) I did the highbeam mod quit some time ago but, when I try to incorporate all 4 HIDs I blow fuses. (due to the groundeing I guess). :dunno:
Has anyone successfully...
Hey Ya'll I haven't been on in some time. Been going through and STILL going through some bad times in my life.
I had a unique problem Friday I THOUGHT was all to familiar but, strangely wasn't. I was on the way to work going around a slight curved on ramp. When the front end started shaking...
I did the 4-high mod a while back on my '02 Silverado then I added HIDs to the low. Worked great BUT, when I added HIDs to the high no go. I tried a few things but, wasn't sure how to get it right.
With the relays and the whole reverse polarity and then having the low beams...
So along with ALL THE OTHER fWONkIN' PROBLEMS I've had with and surrounding my transmission rebuild/replacement I crushed the end of the shift cable because I :quote: didn't need to wire it up out of the way:quote:
:frustration:
I tried fixin' it but, to no avail.:fume:
$150 at GM...
I have a 2002 Extended Cab Silverado 4 wheel drive with a 4L60E transmission. The problem is "which one"?
As my previous thread stated I blew 3rd gear. Several people I know have good used ones BUT, they aren't sure if they're "the right one". Even though they came out of same year (or close...
My '02 Silverado with a 4L60E tans has aprox 205,000 miles on it. I got it at around 140,000 (ish) miles 3 1/2 years ago. Prior to me buying it it was rebuilt ( I was given the receipt for proof). Around a year after getting it I had the fluid and filter serviced by a reputable transmission...
I was getting ready to get a front end alignment at my friend's shop after I installed new MOOG inner/outer tie rod ends ( purchased through site sponsor Rock Auto ). He said might as well put new sleeves on while I'm doing it. He was referring to something else but, I ordered these (no...
Got my inner/outer tie rod ends ordered along with my stabilizer links and bushings. :fingertime::wookie:
Thanks to Rock Auto the majority of my front is now Moog shipped WAY cheaper then locally even WITH OUT the discount.
So while using Google to find other sources for 0 gauge cable lugs/ring terminals I came across an article on making your own out of copper tubing.
So I went to the plumbing aisle at Home Depot and while looking at my options the employee in that section told me he use to do the same thing...
I had written a post a while back about a dual battery install I wanted to do. This is what the finished product would look like. (Minus the bar over the battery.) LOL
I'm not sure if this project will take place next week or within the month etc. For now I will be using the old stock...
Due to recent vandalism on my truck :gunguy:, I am forced to make a change on my rims/tires situation for "day to day' driving.:fume:
I am changing to military Humvee tires. Only problem is I have 17 X 13.5" rims and they require 16.5'' X 12" rims.:(
So far I have only found a limited...
Got all my lights in FINALLY. One of my next days off I'll be installing them, the high and low HID ballasts kits (5,000K) along with getting X-pel film installed on all of them by Cool Conceptz.:fingertime:
Also have the new factory foglights that match.
Will be more posting...
I am replacing the PITA horns on my '02 Silverado. Well ok just the drivers side high tone is the PITA. :frustration:
The aftermarkets aren't OEM and they don't indicate on the horn or the install guide that one is (+) or (-) and both spades are the same size. On the factory it has a special...
Because I'm replacing all 3 front light sets on my '02 Silverado, I decided to go through and re tape wiring as well as adding new wire loom. I found this piece on the frame in the center of the front in the run to the passenger side.
What the fWONk is it? :dunno:
Thanks for any...
A while back I bought a 200 amp (100 amp idle) alternator. At the time I couldn't find
2 gauge wire locally without buying a $70 kit. So I used 1 gauge.
As you can see I replaced the factory wire and fusible link with new and an in line fuse. I now have found several on line sources...
