No, we aren't. It's the pump. You said "It starts hard sometimes" not "This bitch is dead in the Wal mart parking lot, and I had to tow it home"

Put a fuel pump in it, a filter, and a new gas cap.

I dont understand how its the fuel pump if fuel pressure is tested at 60 when turning key forward and 52 when running at idle.

I'm gonna replace something here soon. Someone also told the spider injectors were famous for leaking on these vortecs.

There is a vacuum line on the fuel pressure regulator.
Pull it off and see if you smell gas at the vacuum line.
If you do... it is bad and needs to be replaced.

What about doing a smoke test on the evap and injector balance test?

If I end end replacing the spiders which am I better off doing the CFI or the conversion to MFI?

That's what wifey's was doing, evidently the injector module(under the plenum)wasn't allowing the injectors to open. The tech at the chevy dealer said there was just enough fuel getting to the cylinders to let it idle, and roughly at that, sometimes. He had it running only a coulpe of times.

If,and I say if,it comes to replacing the spider I highly recommend the MPFI,it'll cost more but it's more efficient.I'm glad I did the upgrade

BTW I had wifey's Burb towed to the dealer, and paid the $125 for the diagnosis so I wouldn't go replacing a bunch of parts and still have the same prob.I believe it was money well spent.

No I havent had chance yet. I have been getting a gut feeling thats its the spiders. Do I pull this hose the fuel pressure regulator on a cold start or let it idle then cut it off then check it or both.

Remember the KISS Principle...

Check the easy and cheap stuff first....
Why start think of expensive and complicated stuff when you won't even check the cheap and easy stuff???? :dunno:

Your GUT ain't got nothing to do with what is wrong with your truck...
