There are two options: retrofitting projectors ($$$$$$) or fit a custom "glare shield". Since I don't have the money for retrofits at the moment, I will be attempting to make a custom shield to cut out the glare. I will be posting as I go along and will continuously update with pictures.

You can pick up a pair of bi-xenon projectors for less than $100 :dunno:
Roll of butyl sealant from Nissan is like $15.
You probably already have a dremel...

Holy crap! Someone with HID's that actually cares about the glare!!

Sorry if this offends anyone, and I don't mean to imply that all drivers with HIDs don't care about the glare from the lights, but headlight glare is one of my biggest pet peeves, and HIDs seem to be the worst offenders. Honestly, I wonder how many accidents some of these have caused. At least once every other week, if I'm driving at night, I find I have to either really slow down, or pull to the shoulder, because of glare from an oncoming car making it almost impossible to see the road ahead of me. Most of the time it seems to be from HID's, though I readily admit there's more than a few idiots out there with badly aimed regular headlights. I try to keep my windshield as clean as possible, to minimize the effects, but there's only so much you can do, and, IMHO, if I'm driving a damn truck, and sitting up high enough that I can easily see clear over your roof, and your headlights blind me... there's a problem with your lights.

It's good to see a thread like this, with someone recognizing the problem and trying to correct it, and others reading it and trying to learn from it. Bravo!

:werd:

I got projectors before I got HID's

I highbeam the mofo's who glare the shit out of the road... They fWONking deserve it, too.

That's one of the reasons I don't cap my offroad lights... :jester:

Sorry guys it's been hectic lately. Ran into some money issues so I'll get on this as soon as possible. Will likely be sometime next month that I order the lights, but as soon as I get them I'm going to bust out a solution (hopefully). This is very high on my list of stuff to do for the truck.....including another audio upgrade.

Okay guys since I'm slacking on the paint chipping review I figured I'd pick up some here. Ordered some new HIDs just now....they will be in on Tuesday and I'll do my best to get started on something. Will be documenting as I go along.

If you're replacing the H/U I call dibs on your current one!

Hopefully I'll have my retrofit HIDs installed by the end of the month.

Na man, I love this head unit. :D

I can't wait to see them. If this doesn't work I'll more than likely take them out and save up for retrofits. It's the only true way.
