Used to know a guy who worked at a fuel distributor in Austin as a dispatcher. I asked him about all of the brand name gasoline and how did they keep it straight. He said their trucks all filled up from the same tap at the distribution hub (all came from the same storage tanks), then went out and refilled all of the stations on the list... regardless of brand name. He swore that every station in town was buying the same gas from the company... even though some of them showed up in a truck with a brand name on the side...

I'd be careful what you pay extra for.

I still know people who will only buy a certain brand of gas. I laugh at them and just buy mine wherever I need to fill up.

The fuel comes from the same refineries, then each "brand" adds their own additives... At least in Canada

Same in So Cal.

My ex father in law used to deliver gas.He said the same thing.

A friend of a friend of mine delivers gasoline. He says, the drivers are the ones that add the extra crap to the tanks when they are filling them. It all comes from the same place. :dunno:

I fill up 99% of the time at Shell. Of those, I use use the same pump 90% of the time. It makes tracking fuel economy more accurate by reducing some of the variables.

well before all my iphone apps crashed.. I had an app that had been tracking my fuel mileage for the past 9000 mi... now i have to restart.

But anyway... The only stations I ever fill up at are BP, Marathon, and Shell.. because those are the only ones i really see that have 93 and seem to make the truck run better
