Dang .... It just might work out ...
Had to order a hose that's made for God only knows ... It has a bend in it but does have a long enough run for me to do some slice & dice on ...
It was ordered, will be here tomorrow ..
I hear you. I go to AutoZone, and those idiots ask, what you working on, today. I think, you fools don't know anything. I have a 1979 Corvette ,that has a ton of mods in it. Your not going to type in, 1979 Corvette, and find the part I need. If it's not in the computer, they don't have a clue. I know it's a lot worse with what your doing. IDK if I already mentioned this, or not, but the other day, my alternator rear bearing, started making noise. So, I pull it out, and take it apart. The rear bearing was seized in the case, and I ended up braking the rear of the case , trying to get the bearings out. So, I txt the PO, and asked about the alt. He said it's the tuff stuff, 140 amp. Autozone had a 63 amp, and since I pulled off the Holley sniper, I figure, that may be OK, so I take a chance, and bring it home. I sanded it down, and buffed it out, to make it shine, ( polished aluminum), and install lt. It worked fine at RPMs about about 1000-1200 or so. The electric fans, pull hard, and with the AC, and headlight on, at idle RPMs it's about 10-12 volts. So, I look at the pulley. When I installed the new alt, I noticed the adjustment for the belt, was closer to the engine, and I had more adjustment. Before with the old alt, the adjustment was about maxed out. Well after running the new alt, I swapped the pulley, after looking at the one, that was on the 140 amp, alt. It is definitely a smaller pulley. So, now, the new 63 amp alt, is charging at 13 volts, at idle, and keeps up with the AC, fans, and headlights, ECT. Also, I had the same issues, with my 97, Silverado, when I did the electric fans swap. I ordered a smaller pulley for Summit, I think. On my truck, the idle volts with everything on, would fall to 9 volts. After the pulley swap, not it stays around 12-13 volts.
