Radiator work is going well ..
The custom outlet came in, got the hole cut in the tank ..
Time to fire up the Miller ..

Your going to like that radiator. I have a Champion in the Corvette. It works very well. I have a set of electric fans on the Vette from a Ford, Fusion. They do good, but do pull a little hard on start up. Maybe 40 amps. I had a set of Corvette C-5 fans on it, when I bought the car , last year. I replaced them, looking of better cooling, but the issues wasn't the fans. It was the wiring that supported them. On my 97, Silverado, I have a set of Cadillac DeVille fans. They work grate. They pull a lot of air, and are quite. Neither vehicle, ever over heats. Doesn't matter, if I'm in traffic on a 100 degree day, or getting some chicken, at Popeyes, drive through, on a 100 degree day. Only thing about running electric fans, is you really need to do the big 3 upgrade, to support the extra draw I on the charging system. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Also, just an FYI, I like to run a smaller pulley on my alternators. This is a big hello at idle, if your not already running a large amount alternator. I just replaced the alt on the Vette, with an off the shelf autozone 1, 63 amp. I have a 140 amp, that went out. So I pulled the pulley off of the 140 amp alt, and sure enough it's smaller, than the OE rebuilt one. I swapped them out, and, yes, it charges better at low RPMs.

I'm running a Powermaster 200 Amp Alt ..
With all the fans the truck has, two speed puller on the radiator, remote trans cooler, remote A/C condenser and the rest of the electric accessories that are onboard, the thought was there to overkill that area ..

Awesome. It's always better to have to much cooling power, than not enough. Nice job.

What I had in mind was to keep the radiator free from additional heat ..
Running a warmed up 400 ci SBC (Bored 0.030") ... These mouse motors are known to run hot ..
The 4 row rad. only has to contend with heat transfer of the coolant ..
It does have a built-in trans cooler which will be put to use along with the remote cooler ..

Both of my 350s run about 185, no mater what, LOL as long as my fans are working rite. The truck is easy to keep cool, but the Vette is an other story. They are know to run hot, and the kicker is, while your driving down the road, not at idle. The air flow is an issue in a C-3. The air flow, comes in from underneath the front, not really, from the grill, like in a truck, or most cars. It's the big block GMs that are usually an issue. But as In sure you already know, it all depends on wall thickness, along with several other factors. I'm enjoying your build thread, keep up the good work.

Welding is done and over ..
Making up a union for the top hose ..
Might leave the bend in it or cut the bend out and weld the two pieces together ??
Still in the think tank on that !
Going to get the rad. mounted in the truck and take a look at how the bend flows to the thermostat housing which is from a 55 Chevy 265 ci V-8 .... It's cast iron ..
