That sounds like BB to me :fume:

Yep... So I guess if you do purchase one, if you wait till after I get mine installed I can ask them how much it would have cost me through them...

I'm guessing that the ByPass and the "other parts" weren't included in the $499 so I'm sure I'm still saving $25-50 :dunno:

I was considering getting this exact system after learning CodeAlarm quit providing theirs, and was referred to this unit by Matt/Mblouir. That Amazon.com price tag sure is nice looking! I was going to pay $360 for it last Oct but decided it was too much for my needs on my pos '04. Might get a simple remote start if anything but probably wont at all.

So Mark where is this review you promised?

Umm... It's bad ASS :jester:

Haha, I still haven't had a chance to figure out all the buttons yet. I know how to start it and unlock it..

I need to go through the entire manual and figure the rest out!

But It's worth the money so far..

~ $240 from Amazon (5901 & Pats Bypass)
~ $235 install at Best Buy

Total = $475... Or you can get it from Best Buy installed for $499

viper 5901 is killer - its awesome i have it on all my vehicles.

To bad i had a extra one that i sold last week for 199.00

You can buy a bypass on ebay for 40 bucks or less

Personally i wouldnt have best buy do anything to my truck- i would look for a certified installers in your area. I have a few places around me that would put it in for 150.

I usually put them in myself.

but that $499 doesn't include PATS bypass correct?

I"m not positive on that... I'm going to assume NO..

He never really said. I would probably just go the route I did and have them or someone else install. If it did include it, I still save $25 for gas money right..

I wonder if a dealership would do the install? My Ford dealer did my leveling struts and alignment, dealership engineers are usually best since they are certified to work on the exact vehicles that come in.

Hmm...good question. I wouldn't trust our numb nuts down at our local ford dealership. Then again its probably the people that work at the counters that are the real numb nuts
