It's a nice peace of mind knowing that if anyone touches your truck.....you will know about it.

Yep! That's kind of what I am thinking...

Do you just have the alarm, or do you have attachments with yours?

What do you mean by attachments?

I guess i seen something about adding more sensors... tilt, one with a microphone to hear if glass breaks... and some other stuff... :dunno:

Yeah if I had the extra money I'd probably have bought more sensors. The audio sensors for glass breaking, as you mentioned. The tilt sensor to prevent wheel theft or towing. Would also add a few more shock sensors around the truck so I can turn down the sensitivity. The back-up battery is in case people snip the battery cables.

That being said, I haven't had a need for them since I don't live in a crime-ridden area. The shock sensor has also been plenty to let me know if anything happens. A buddy "patted" my truck's headlight (similar to how you would a dog) the other night, and it gave him the warning beeps. Anyone dings my door and it goes off.

Depends on where you live and if you want to spend the extra for them. Also, had I bought the rest, it would have doubled the installation time having to route all the new wires.

I really don't think the crime around here is THAT bad... Not sure how much that would jack installation! Maybe if what came with it is good enough I can be fine with that!

Just talked to my local best buy.. they said $159 for install.. The Bypass will be extra. I asked if I could bring in the bypass and the kit and they said yes.

So it turns out this is Incorrect! :fume:

I just talked to the local installer at Best Buy and he said its $200 for Viper 5901 install (if not purchased from them) and $30 for ByPass install and maybe more if they need more parts.

so now I'm up to $470... :(

And he also informed me that its a 4-6 hour install (which I figured) but they are booked solid through xmas and then they aren't taking appointments after xmas and it will be first come first serve...
