So I ended up finding a wheel and speedo... quick question. When you had yours apart did you happen to notice if it's possible to replace the plastic face of the speedo easily? The one I ordered has a fairly big scratch on it so was hoping I could swap the plastic from my current one over to it.
Thanks!

Congrats on the find! The cluster face is easy to replace, I actually swapped mine too since the one I got had a scratch and there was some dust inside the lens. The whole front half (clear face and shroud) comes off with some plastic clips around the outside of it. I will try to take some pics of it on my old cluster when I get back home in a few days.

Sorry for the slow reply, I have been traveling and kind of forgot.

In these first 2 pics, you can see the black clips hooked on the white tabs all the way around the center of the cluster. There are 10 clips total, 4 each top and bottom, and 1 on each side.

And here is what it looks like with the face/shroud separated from the cluster.

Nice! Thank-you very much for posting the pics! I'll swap my lenses this weekend hopefully and get it installed.

Is it hard taking the airbag out? I haven't looked at that yet.

The guy at the wrecking yard helped with the airbag.......it was kind of a PITA. Be sure to disconnect the battery at least 15 minutes before you mess with it. There are 3 hooks on the steering wheel base that the airbag hooks onto. On the back of the airbag, there are heavy guage "wire" loops that hook onto the wheel. There are holes through the back of the steering wheel trim (you have to remove the steering column trim first) that you stick a screwdriver through and pry the loop off the hook. You have to turn the wheel as you go to access them all. The clips are really hard to get off the hooks, and it took several tries to get them all worked loose. Once you get it loose, there are 2 electrical connections. Be very careful with them and be sure not to break the clips on the connectors, the guy said if they break you have to buy a new harness because the airbag won't work if they are broken, and you will have a light on your dash all the time.

I had trouble figuring it out, so the guy helped since he said they removed them often. He still had a little trouble, but had it off in a few minutes. He got the airbag out, and I removed the connectors. Sorry I can't help more with the airbag part.......hopefully you can get it figured out.

Nice write up Wayne. :)

The airbag would have been a major concern for me. I'm not a fan of things going BOOM!

Well I finally got the wheel and cluster in... having some issues.

First off after I got them installed (but did not make the wiring changes yet) I brought it to the dealer to have the sales codes enabled (RDZ and XGM). Since the StarScan tool is only for vehicles older than '09 we had to use the new system - however there is NO RDZ code to be found in it. We plugged in a 2010 RAM that came with factory radio controls and still, no RDZ. What were you guys using to enable that option?!

Secondly since my tire pressure was showing all 0's we flashed the XGM code for premium TPMS. After it was installed it says "service tire sensors" and shows "--" for all 4 tires.

WTF?!

The gauges all work at least! I will go ahead and add those 3 wires this weekend but I wonder if there is even any point since the other 2 things don't work.

I looked for RDZ for half an hour and still couldn't find anything for steering wheel audio controls. Are you guys sure that's the code??

Thanks in advance.
