Still Here Because I'm Not There
Yesterday, I did a few upgrades to the interior of my ST Ram to add an EVIC (Electronic Vehicle Information Center) Cluster, a new steering wheel with control buttons for the EVIC, and an upper glove box with a lid on it; all out of an SLT Ram. The EVIC was really the one option I wanted on the truck when I bought it that it didn't have. I have been watching for an EVIC cluster on ebay, and have found several, but they were all pretty pricey. I decided to check with some of the wrecking yards in Albuquerque, and found one that had several 2009+ Rams. After some haggling, I ended up getting an EVIC cluster with almost identical mileage to mine, the steering wheel with controls, and the upper glove box for the price the ebay clusters with known mileage have been going for. On to the pictures.
This is what my dash/wheel/cluster looked like before I started. This is not mine since I couldn't find any good pictures of my whole dash, but it looked just like this one (except the 4wd knob).
I didn't take pictures while doing the swap, since I did it in the parking lot of the wrecking yard. I pulled the dash apart to make sure things fit and the cluster worked and had the mileage they said, so I ended up just doing the whole thing there. The guy was also nice enough to help me get the airbag out and pull the steering wheel.
On to the current pics.

Not all the functions of the EVIC work yet since I have to have a sales code added to the BCM so that it will recognize that it has the option. I will also have to do a little wiring to power up the steering wheel controls, it is a matter of splicing in 2 wires and I have the diagrams from a member on another forum, so should be easy enough. I am not in a huge hurry to get this done, even as it is the EVIC cluster adds 2 additional gauges and displays more information on the screen than the stock cluster did. I am VERY pleased with the upgrade.
Also, while I had the dash apart, I replaced the cabin filter. This was another thing that I added since it was not available on ANY 09+ Ram, although the blower motor ducting was set up with a knockout for one and a grate inside to hold the filter. I had added it about a year ago and never have replaced the filter, so here is what it caught:
