In cold weather I usually use the remote start and let it run for about 5-10 minute before I go. This is only if I park outside.

When parked in the garage I just start it and back it out and then let it run for about a minute before I leave.

when warm out I let it run about a minute before I put it in gear.

IMO at the minimum I think the rpm's should be drop to a steady point and make sure you have good oil pressure.

I usually let mine warm up if its been sitting outside in below freezing temps. I get to park mine in a 60 degree garage so it usually doesn't need a warm up.

I do the same thing, garage FTW!

some people cant fit there trucks into their garages.... :jester:
12' garage doors FTW!

That must be awesome. My truck is as high as it can get with being able to still fit, its a half inch shy of rubbing the stop sill. So if I ever lifted I would have to say bye bye garage luxuries.

5 mins minimum always, 10+ on cold days which are rare. Remote start FTW:lol: I'll kick on the high idle mod on occasion also

Got an oil change done yesterday. I started the truck about 10 minutes ago at my cousin's house, and I drove it back home. Fucking engine ticked like hell on the way back. It pissed me off so much, I decided to to rev the hell out of it. :fume:

Like some of the other guys I use the remote start and let her run for at least 10 minutes on cold mornings. Bought the damn thing may as well use it, right?

I know it freakin hurts if I were to jump out bed right from waking up and start running down the street!! Lol So I let her idle a few mins b4 driving. They warm up much quicker if you have e-fans.

It rarely ever gets cold enough for me to warm up here.

If we do get a particularly cold snap, I'l let it warm up a bit. I'd like to make it look like it's because I give a shit about the truck, but it's actually because I don't like to be cold so I let the heater get warm.

I generally let it warm up a few minutes . . . never more than the remote start default shut off time. :dunno:

I've read some guys saying that it's good for the tranny and engine to warm it up. But I've read others saying just drive and let it warm up on the road.

:werd:

Well at least the few times the shop let me borrow my truck for a couple of days. :jester:
