Your truck will sound pretty damn good with a dynomax DI/DO muffler. A buddy of mine got one put on last week on his 5.0.

Everything up to the muffler is stock and he still has cats and its louder then my 5.7 at idle.

He has the muffler at the DI/DO muffler at the bottom of the page.

I asked the guy about putting a high-flo cat on, and he said (surprise surprise) that it is illegal to replace a cat in California unless it's defective.[/QUOTT

Cut a hole in the Cat that way you can get a Magnaflow Cat on ebay there cheap make sure that you can use one like it first and get the pipes to come out the side while on ebay look for some nice tips you know his shop there going to cost more.

Let me add I had a glasspack muffler on my truck one in two out with stock Cat well I put on a Magnaflow high flow Cat and it got to loud for me why much better flow so I put on a Magnaflow muffler now it sounds mellow I say your truck is going to sound real nice.

Wouldn't it be SI/DO though?

Maybe he did get it done from the y pipe back to make it true duals:dunno:. He has a 93 so maybe the exhaust is different from yours? Sorry I'm not much help I don't know much about fords.

FYI... Your exhaust is going to sound nothing like your buddies Silverado...

Different engines are going to sound completely different.

It's why you can always tell if a truck is a GMT-400 with a 350 before you see the vehicle

That's not to say it won't sound good, but it won't sound the same :)
What are you trying to say Dennis? :D

My opinion: Exhaust dumped before the wheel will be SO much louder in the truck. The drone will probably drive you crazy and deaf. All the way out the back is still gonna be a great sound. And trust me, you'll still here it in the truck too. :)

Well I dont have much $ at the moment so it'll have to wait anyways. My Alternator likes to squeal like a stuck pig all the time now so that'll have to be replaced. Where would be a good place to find a 130 amp alternator? that doesnt suck?

If your willing to tackle it, rebuild your own alternator. Those things are quite simple and typically news bearings and brushes it all it needs. Hell of alot cheaper too. :)

Guess I could rebuild it. Just can't afford the downtime :/ unless I put the stocker back in for a bit. Any idea where I can get parts? I'm pretty confident in my abilities if I were to do this
