Well if can 454 vortec I'll regear to 4.56 cause I also want to run 35's with 3in body lift and spindle lift on 16.5 rims.
You need to get off that 16.5 rim stuff buddy. Thats Old school and those tires are uncommon now which means they'll be expensive. You are better off finding you a set of factroy GM 17inch.

I already have a set of 16.5 rims. I can get set of 35's that are generals from tirerack for around 800 bucks
Well OK then. Was just my opinion. I haven't checked prices on 16.5 wheels in a long time, but I know as tires get more uncommon the prices go up and up and up.

To add one more thing to think about for this ride. We keep talking about using the stock TBI and computer (which is not going to work real well if you are making much more power then stock)

If I were doing this on a 95 or older truck, I would ditch the TBI all together and either find a wrecked 96-99 to still the computer from or I would stick a Carb on it and be done.

A good carb is as good or better then a TBI any day and you will probably get more performance out of it too.

not bad idea either on the 454 or 350 engine.

For me it wouldn't matter which way you went. TBI and performance just don't go together well. I want to know how many really strong vehicles any of you guys have seen out there that have a TBI on them.

Yep, I agree with 66nova on the TBI. I'd either go Cammed and Carbed, or with Vortec. Not alot of modding to be done to Vortec either, but it should have enough torque and hp with the right gear ratio.

Got to decide on what you want to do then exacute a plan or it's going to be a real mess. As for the towing a a big ass trailer etc........then wanting top end and low end grunt, stacks out the bed and now a cummings. If I were you I think I would sel the truck and buy a Peterbuilt :dunno:
