Well as a fishing guide I guess I :quote: have to:quote: chime in  just kidding.

Just first things first don't get a Mercury! I have had nothing but problems with them. I am tired of pulling boats in because their "black anchor" got them stuck out on the water. Anyways if you want to just cruise around fishing only not booze cruising then I would get like a small john boat or something along that area. What size water are you gonna be in? Like the small lakes around Clemson? You could always get a used Bass Tracker for a great price and they are well built and plentiful for the lower price boats.

I also like the idea of a party barge but you take up 10x more space with them and they are pretty much a pain when something goes wrong. I have heard horror stories of guys having the pontoons leaking on those and to fix them the right way can be a royal PITA.

Give us some more ideas of what you're looking for too

MMMMmmm I like the looks of those two. Thanks for the ideas, guys. I'll definitely be doing my research before hand. Probably going to stay away from a pontoon for now. That I'll be looking into later down the road.

Jim the one you posted is about the perfect size. Just about what I'm looking for.

My buddy next door bought one from this place in OK that repossess boats he came out great on his. Remember if you want to do fishing in swallow areas consider a aluminum boat with a out board engine.

Now if you get one use it a lot or it's going to end up being a anchor in your yard and things will start to go wrong with it.

It's a pretty cool boat, but probably way overkill for what you want though.

The neighbors have a pontoon boat, "The Black Pearl" Makes a great party boat!

Those outbacks are sweet for big lakes and fun to go wakeboarding and such I always wanted one of those for messing around and going out on the boat

Their place is at Lake Anna, VA. It's pretty big, but I can't find any images with a scale. It's at least 15 miles from tip to tip though.

The fella pictured in my post above is my brother-in-law and he wakeboards all the time. He's got a couple friends on the lake who are big into it too, and about half of them have already had surgery on their knees, shoulders, etc from wakeboarding.

I'll stick to cruising around the lake and the occasional bit of water skiing. Oh yeah, and the jet skis! I think her dad is planning on getting another one for this summer. They've got 2, old, 1 person Yamahas, and a 2-person Polaris.
