ok question i have been fighing the timing on this heres the deal the plugs i used were for the 97 vortec with a .60 GAP and my old distributor but to get it to run half ass i am having to run about 10 degrees of timing but its sluggish when i take of from a stop should i use a different gap on the plugs or something it runs smooth just kind of bogs when full throttle from a stop

You're doing a TBI intake and ignition system though right? If so, I think TBI ingnition is .045. I'm not sure that would be your issue, but I'd check plug gap and tune to TBI specs since you are still running TBI igntion, intake and computer. All you really have is Vortec long block right???

Make sure you are tuned and timed to TBI spec and see if it makes a difference.

Hopefully someone else may jump in with a suggestion.
