Pintos make great drag cars! We've had a guy here that has been in the 11s for about 5 years with his and he only pulls the engine over the winter break. He runs a build 5.0 on alcohol.

Cool project. I like all the trucks OEM to rads/really like what your doing with the 32. The z'd frame and overall look is awesome. And love that 2.3L Turbo Mustang motor. That's a super powerfull little combo and that motor-the 2.3-is used in some sorts of "specific" racing so there's tons of suppliers with specific cam shafts/pistons etc/kits whatever you want. I've got a non turbo 2.3 in my Ranger and its been a super tough motor. I like that you've gone to a non-belly button motor. I like the unique. Boy you got a amazing deal on buying that Pinto. I wonder if it was insipred by the "Pinto Guy" from Socal. I remember a shop teacher in Socal that got a lot of coverage from HotRod mag and others with his turboed 2.3liters in Pintos and such. He was--maybe still is-some sort of drag strip creative guy. His name is or was/ is i hope/ been a few years--Joe Morgan and he was getting 3hp per ci back in the late 90's. He also raced a 86 turbo ranger, and probably has all kinds of data that you might find of interest regarding 2.3liter turbo motors. Goodluck

BTW I know you're not building a race car or anything but I thought these 2.3turbo ranger sources might be helpful for ideas or? etc. You probably know, but if not Racer Walsh in Florida has a ton of stuff for 2.3 liters. I don't see a website for them?? I'm probably not looking correctly?? or?? Anyway they have catalogs at 1849 Foster Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32216 800-334-0151.

tomget, yeah these 2.3 engines are used by esslinger in midgets. also a popular engine for sandrails too

anyways been slacking lately graduating from college and all, but that also means money coming in from family as a gift, which about half is going into this project. just picked up an ecu, harness, and VAM. i think with that and a fuel pump i could start this thing up.

btw anyone know of a 255lph inline fuel pump? mainly one that wont break the bank, dont even need that much flow but would rather get a 255 incase i decide to up the boost, which i plan too once it is running in good condition.

also, anyone want to buy a pinto?
