ok so some of you ford guys may know have seen my truck years ago until i hit a dead end with no motor for the truck. well picked up a 1980 pinto for $800 that had a worthy engine to put into my truck. a 1988 2.3 turbo 4 cylinder out of a thunderbird turbo coupe. so anyways ill start from the beginning

1932 ford pickup, completely stock, many people will probably want to kill me for how good condition this truck was in

stock is never good so body dropped it i believe it was 6"

still too tall so took a little off the top too, i guess more like a lot off the top with a 5" chop

chop is done, still not low enough so dropped front axle

then time for the back, that stock frame rail was way too low so chopped it off and made my own along with a 4 link and a winters quick change rear end and custom water jetted brackets

then the bags went in

and that is about where i stopped about 3 years ago, was waiting on a midget engine to put in it but that fell through and never happened so found this 1980 pinto that had a 2.3 turbo coupe engine for $800 got it stripped it and could now sell just the car no engine for more then what was paid.

so here it is mocked up and ready to start making motor mounts for it

It's not heaven . . . it's Iowa!
That thing looked to be in AMAZING condition for being 75+ years old!

That being said, I really dig the look of the chopped top rat rods!

Yes, very cool build. Keep posting pictures.

unfortunately thats about all the pic i have of it, i have more in different angle but thats about it, i forgot to take pictures today with everything mocked up on the truck, but i should have the engine and t5 trans in by next week, if not this weekend. oh yeah and 100% of this build is built by me, my dad is giving a hand here and there but its all me

once the engine/trans is in ill make the firewall fit, make a new floor, get a drive shaft made, work on the peddles, need to make or get a new seat, get the brake system working, wire the truck, figure out a gas tank, plumb the airbags, then once the money starts to came back around get an eec and wiring harness for the engine, get the engine running, drive the crap out of it, then start making it fast, get a piggyback tuner, new turbo, up the boost, drive it till it blows, rebuild the bottom end, and then swap to a volvo DOHC head with minor adjustments to the block, then should be making a good 400-600hp

whatever i want it to be, i used to race sprint cars and still have just about any gear ratio set of gears i want, but will probably end up with a set that will give me about a 3.73:1 ratio
