True but the GM 14 Bolt in my dually is rated for alot more power then my engine will ever output. And this may not be the case in all trucks sure. The planetarys shouldn't mind a firmer shift....if its SLAMMING or banging going in of course those are extremes. Let me ask this if the ENGINEERS are all knowing. Why do they design things that all of us have worked on and said the ENGINEER should be FIRED for ever designing anything that way. Because its such a PITA to get to or work on. How many have ever yelled or cussed and said that engineer should be in the field working on some of the things we have to work on or with everday? Just my opinion. NO argument or demeaning intended as you said you are an engineer. But working on your truck I would tend to think there are a variety of things you would design differently.
Oh yes, I agree that even us almighty Engineers make mistakes on occasion.
But as a Machine Designer, I get critiqued all the time when my machines are being built and debugged. My response is usually showing them a blank computer screen and saying: "If you can do better, have at it". They usually shut up...for awhile anyway.
