Howdy boys. New to the forum, need some help.
Spent all evening on the net and can't find anything on the topic. What I want to do is find something or someone that can take the 2 captains chairs from the second row, move them together and farther back to give more leg room for the second row passengers. Maybe an adapter bracket that utilizes the 3rd row front latches and the second row back latches? The 3rd row seats are currently sitting in the garage not being used, and I am completely OK with an oversized 4 seater SUV. Any help greatly appreciated.

I can't help you much other than saying it sounds like a very difficult task. I had a bench in my Yukon so I'm not familiar with the captains chairs but the second row bolted down to the floor at the same height as the drivers seats with a deep floor pan. The third row latches down about even height with the cushions or slightly above the cushions of the front seats and is flat on the floor. I don't know that there would be enough headroom back there to fit the captains chairs even if you could make a mount for them.

Mine was a 00 so I don't know what all has changed with the newer body style. If you can post pictures it would help get the creative juices flowing. There's quite a few engineers here that could probably come up with some pretty creative solutions if they could see what you're dealing with.

I think you will have to have a custom set of brackets fabbed up, get a set of of junkers front and rear, and cut the bottoms off and mount them up, but it will take more then that..getting everything aligned properly and all..

I'll get some pics and put up. Head room isn't a concern, it's mainly because my one year old can already kick the back of the front chairs and it's only going to get worse as he grows up.
