Scott, it's been a year and you still haven't upgraded your alternator? :nonod:

If it's just for A/C, GM has a fan kit for pre-04 trucks that mounts in front of the condenser to increase A/C performance at slow speeds. The dealer installed it on my parents' old 03 Yukon under warranty because the A/C wasn't even cooling at idle. It was loud as hell though, but I guess its not like GM's factory E-fans are quiet.

Mechanical fan on a giant brick, FTW.

Yeah but you live up north. Its hot as fWONk here and I need maximum airflow even when sitting still in my brick. Only E-fans can do that.

I can certainly understand that but how do all of the other people with mechanical fans on burbs and hoes there survive? Do you park with the engine running a lot?

Even on the hottest days here (we hit high humid 90's ad 100's), I've never had a heat issue, fortunately.

I have no problems with mechanical fans. Mine still spit out ice cubes at idle, even at 106

They sold him the pulley with it

Upgrading the alt is no big deal. I will rebuild it to a 145 if I have to

I bought a junkyard 145 amp. I have just been too lazy to install it.

Nope. I did the big 3 hoping that would solve it. It helped tremendously, but my voltage still dips sometimes if both fans kick on at idle. Once I rev the engine it goes back up. That's why it hasn't been a huge priority for me. :dunno:

Instal that buzz..it takes like 20 mins. The hardest part was getting the old one out of the bracket and the belt rerouted.
