In doing this swap, could a later model pcm be used? I frequent the pull your own parts places and was just wondering?

This is a very old thread. IDT any of the OP will answer you, but I could be wrong. What do you want the PCM to do. There is all ready controls in the PCM for electric fans. This goes all the way back to 1996. The Burbs from then had a pusher fan. You still need relays to power the fans. Here is my write up on what I did on my 97 Silverado. This set up can be used on any full size truck, as long as the fans fit the radiator.
