Never mind then, that doesn't sound as easy as I thought

it was really easy  the fuse was a problem, because who would have thought that the Instrument cluster keep alive 15A fuse also powered the dome lights, radio, and the windows

the wiring took me only an hour lol after i figured out which wire were which and that the wire for the dome light only ran down the drivers side sill.
I tested every wire down the passenger sill and got nothing so i finally just ran one across and tapped into the drivers side wire.

If if showed where all of the wires were it would be a quick wire

It took Me forever to find the right wire for the right turn signal it was hiding under all of the other wires. the 1st one I found was before it entered the relay so when you shut the signal off it would ground out the relay and cause it to buzz.

Fired her up this morning to go to work and all she did was miss out and shake and rattle like i droped half the cylinders? Took valve covers off on my lunch break and removed plugs to check all them. Didnt see a damn thing wrong with anything. I had no idea what else it could be. So after work i call my cousin he thought it was the quadra jet carb? I told him i didnt see how but i have a guy in town i know with a bunch of stuff sitting around. So i called him he had a 1405 (600 cfm) edelbrock he had just picked up at a auction/ swap meet. Told him what the truck was doing and he said the same thing. The carb? So i said ok i went out and picked up the edelbrock went home and put it on. And i would have never believed it but she fired right up and didnt skip a beat. So after that i asked what he wanted for the carb. ( it looks brand new) he said he would take $100 for it. So $100 later im back and running. That other carb i had was always flooding i adjusted the float a few times and the gasket always looked soaked. So im guessing its just a bad carb.

Got a delivery from LMC truck yesterday...a replacement door handle for my burb.Gotta put that in today..

Pretty simple job,not sure if I should do a thread on the install...
Yes please!!! :D
I've removed 2, but have yet to install one. Those clips for the rods look like they're gonna be a PITA.

Drove it to work.

Would have been my guess also. I'd be willing to bet the filter inside that thing was clogged. I always ran a seperate inline filter with those old quadra-pukes.

Some of the Quadrajets used plastic floats...
Over time the floats become porous and adsorb a certain amount of fuel.
Then they are heavier than they are supposed to be and if not replaced with new floats, cause the fuel level to be too high in the float bowl and that can lead to rough running and flooding out.

Quadrajets are great... but only "IF" they are assembled "RIGHT" and adjusted "RIGHT"

They are great! I highly recommend them. Te only problem is you have to use a couple of them if the boat is too big. But, one can hold a huge stack of papers.

That Edelbrock AFB style carb is and excellent choice for a daily driver:thumbs:
