Vacuumed it out and put my new AMSOIL signs on it.
This one is a keeper I think. We'll see if the new design sways me at all.

Would have been my guess also. I'd be willing to bet the filter inside that thing was clogged. I always ran a seperate inline filter with those old quadra-pukes.
I didnt have a internal filter. I always run a exturnal one on any carb.![]()
Some of the Quadrajets used plastic floats...
Over time the floats become porous and adsorb a certain amount of fuel.
Then they are heavier than they are supposed to be and if not replaced with new floats, cause the fuel level to be too high in the float bowl and that can lead to rough running and flooding out.
Quadrajets are great... but only "IF" they are assembled "RIGHT" and adjusted "RIGHT"

They are great! I highly recommend them. Te only problem is you have to use a couple of them if the boat is too big. But, one can hold a huge stack of papers.
That Edelbrock AFB style carb is and excellent choice for a daily driver
