I guess you could always call them up and ask.. Although they would probably try to sell you on factory remote start or something...

For those guys who have it.. How are you keeping your LCD display from getting scratches all over it.. I can't tell if there is a piece of plastic still on the screen or not. Looks like my keys are leaving some marks.. I wonder if Zagg could make me a piece.. humm

Just so you guys know, 95% of dealerships do not do any audio/video or alarm/remote start installs themselves. They will say they do, but in actuality they have an installer from a local shop come to the dealership and do it. Its very lucrative to get a contract with a dealer to do all their installs. Many installers do that and dont even have an actual store. They are strictly mobile installers and work out of a box van or something. So if you call a dealer about getting it installed, ask lots of questions. Like who will be installing it, will it be a mechanic or a 12 volt MECP certified technician. Flat out ask if they sub out the work to a 12volt installer. :dunno:

Yep. Travis (KCAutoSound) does a lot of dealership installs.

I've been debating getting a 5901 to replace my CA. I'm still having a lot of problems with it giving me random warning chirps. Does it a couple times a day. Once every week or so it goes off every 5 minutes and does so until I unlock it and leave it. Gotten to the point I rarely set the alarm anymore. Travis sent me a replacement shock sensor a while back but that didn't fix the problem.

If I do get a 5901 I'll install it myself since I've already done one. Glad to hear you got it installed and it's working great. I feel you on the screen scratches. Mine is pretty scuffed up.

Have you looked into the SmartStart?

Yeah, I've seen it.. But don't think its worth the $299. Unless I could start it with the phone and drive off without having keys on me... But then again I'll need a key for the house so I may as well bring my keys..

But yeah, Not real happy about the scratches!

Man my CA does that too. Its so bad that I actually have just turned the alarm off, I haven't used the alarm itself more than a few days because its terrible.

Just got my Zagg Invisible Shield. Fits perfect on my remote! And I didn't realize but all the scratches I had on my remote were taken off because I didn't remove the factory screen cover! So now I should have a perfect screen at ALL times
