I'd be the first one in line for a new one if radar was still used a lot here.

They DO make LIDAR Jammers. Just sayin' . . . :uhoh: :D2

Now what I need is a way to fool the speed CAMERA's they're setting up around here. FWonkin' Big Brother. :fume: :paranoid:
That Escort I'm looking at has most of them loaded into its GPS. I don't have many speed cameras around here but it's a nice feature anyway.

Question about laser guns......

Are there any car-mounted laser guns.....similar to car-mounted radar guns? I wouldn't think so since they have to precisely aim it at either your front plate or headlights. However, anyone know of anything like this?

I'm curious because I rarely/never drive anywhere that cops are parked and shooting passing cars. Not unless I'm on vacation and out of town. Generally when someone gets pulled around here it's while the LEO is already driving.

It's not heaven . . . it's Iowa!
I'm not a LEO or an expert on such things, but my understanding is that LIDAR can't be used from a moving vehicle. As to whether it's car mounted or not, if it can only be used from a stationary vehicle, I'd assume it is more of a "gun" than anything else.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm considering a detector now simply because I live in an area that rarely uses laser. The few times I do drive through areas that laser is used (mostly the interstate) I always slow it down anyway.

When I get to areas where laser is used I slow down. Radar detectors are useless for laser.

I don't drive in areas with laser too often. Around my area it's almost all radar usage, and based on what I found tonight they don't use instant-on. So it will be very helpful where I'm at now.

If it will help you to have no tickets or get them for that matter, than go for it. Oh wait already did, LOL.

Hey guys my Escort 8500 X50 detector has done me right I love it now Escort makes much better one's but if I had the money I would buy a Valentine 1 with new up-dates. On Ebay there is this seller that sells Escort radar detectors from Escort one can get a 8500 refubished for $149.99 or 8500 X50 that detects pop with is instant on for $199.99 the bottom line buying a cheap one like even Cobra can get you in trouble im not saying they don't work but it will alert when your on top of the cop.

My 8500 X50 picked up radar from 1.5 miles away and when it does go off there is a cop for sure. Remember getting one isn't for you to drive like a bat out of hell please be safe.
