Met the county sheriff and gave him a hand with a traffic control problem.
Guy in a GMC pickup ran out of gas at a busy intersection just 1/4 mile from the gas station. The sheriff was the only LEO in the area at the time, and was trying to control traffic with just his little black unmarked Mustang. I rolled up behind him, lit up the truck, put on the traffic director and introduced myself. We'd met before at EmComm Team meetings, but it took him a minute to realize who I was.
After putting a gallon in the truck from a can the driver still couldn't get it to start, so I got out a tow strap and we moved him to the shoulder so traffic could get through.
Got a nice handshake and "Thanks!" from the sheriff afterwards, and he was quite impressed with my truck. He kept telling the deputies that started showing up, "It's okay, Bernie's got it covered with that truck of his."
I don't think I have to worry much about getting tickets inside the county limits for the next month or so.
I put on a new pin door cab light switch on my passenger door it had messed up and it wasn't working. GM doesn't make them to last that long I already replaced about four of them at $9.61 a pop. Oh I also put in $25.25 dollars in gas.
drove 500 miles back and forth between college and home totaling over 150 bucks, but was for a good reason. my first and only cat we had to put to sleep, poor thing had cancer. went through a laser wash and a quick detail:
