What did you do to your truck today?

I removed the big Chevrolet/Suburban badge from the rear door....

However,I can still see where the paint is slightly darker where the badge was,any ideas how I can remedy this?

A little compound and wax should do it. That looks really good!

gramps take a mirror and place it so it reflects light to the affected area, condensed like so it fades porportionatly to the original fade.

It wouldn't hurt to try. Go for it. But in my personal experience, polishing compound only helped with scratches, not color fading. But I'd still at least try it. I know 3M makes a really good polishing compound.

I'll check it out,thanks for the tip.I know there are compounds that can bring some shine to faded paint but I don't necessarilly wanna use those on my good paint.I can do this on thursday(day off)..I'll let you know how it turns out.Who knows,it might even turn into a ''how to'' thread

Then take some before and after pics to see the difference it makes.

Looks great Gramps. A good wax also helps minimize the fading effect by conditioning the paint.
