However,I can still see where the paint is slightly darker where the badge was,any ideas how I can remedy this?

A little compound and wax should do it. That looks really good!

Looks good Gramps. Not sure if theres anything that can be done about the paint fading though.:dunno:

Thanks, appreciate it.I'm thinking maybe a little liquid low abrasive compound might help...maybe rub a bigger area than where the badge was....keep the rag wet and not press too hard?

gramps take a mirror and place it so it reflects light to the affected area, condensed like so it fades porportionatly to the original fade. :D

It wouldn't hurt to try. Go for it. But in my personal experience, polishing compound only helped with scratches, not color fading. But I'd still at least try it. I know 3M makes a really good polishing compound.

I'll check it out, thanks for the tip.I know there are compounds that can bring some shine to faded paint but I don't necessarilly wanna use those on my good paint.I can do this on thursday(day off)..I'll let you know how it turns out.Who knows,it might even turn into a ''how to'' thread :)

Looks great Gramps. A good wax also helps minimize the fading effect by conditioning the paint.
