When it is done and reassembeled, I will have some nice photo shoots to post. For the next week or so, I will be cutting, buffing and putting it back together as I have time. I will be out of town monday and tuesday, then fishing wednesday and thursday (gotta go fishing to relax!!) I have a show next weekend (i think) here in Raleigh and my painter really wants to have it there for show. Then I will be taking it to Philly in October to see my brother for a long weekend.

The Glass is scheduled to go in on wednesday and the before that happens it has to be buffed. Another ong day tomorrow!!

the hood is being painted at my friends personal shop. He was waiting for the art to go on the truck to get the color scheme we decided on. Now that we have it, the flames will be painted in the morning and it will be cleared tomorrow.

Today we painted the bed, tailgate, and other misc. small parts. The only paint left to do is the mirrors. Jimmy started cutting and buffing, got the two front fenders done, they are smooth as glass and look WET!

To give ya'll an idea, we have 200 hours to date in this paint job, and $3k in materials. We have about another 80 hours of cutting and buffing, not to mention the assembly of the truck. If we only charge $40 per hour, the total is now up to $11k. If we use the $80 per hour, we are at $19k. when we add in the new bumpers, grill, misc. parts, glass, etc. the total increases an additional $2k.

The end result is incredible, but if you think about doing this type of project, you have to be ready for the cost. I started this project 6 months ago, working occasionally. And now I am almost ready to put it back together.

The good news here?? My truck looks fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!

No offense but if you have 80 hours of cutting and buffing to do, there must be orange peel the size of large grapes. I've seen Pebble beach bound paint get cut and buffed in two work days to absolute perfection.

Your truck is looking great. I'm sure looking forward to seeing the final result!
