For the price range, Infinity for sure. Nice upgrade.
I think I have owned every single one, now, except the MB Quart. Then again, after JBL, why would I?

If you're not planning on using an external amp with new speakers, don't bother fretting too much over which speakers to go with. None are going to sound their best with a stock headunit. Get a cheap pair from a somewhat-respected brand and be done with it.

Kicker is a tad better (sound quality wise). Those brands are all about being loud at all costs.

Kicker's amplifiers and higher-end subs are great stuff IMO.

I agree. They stress high output over audiophile sound quality but their stuff is quite good quality. Not knocking them at all.

As far as the replacement speakers for his truck... The OEM head unit is only capable of so much, but a decent pair of speakers does wonders. I also would not go way overboard unless I intended to replace the head unit.

Also, no use in getting components without an amp if you ask me...

I forgot about mb quart, I will have to check them out for Danielle's mustang

I have used Kicker, Infiniti, Orion, Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine, Rockford Fosgate, Altec-Lansing, JBL, Cerwin-Vega!, and even Boston Acoustics over the years. I never did own MB Quart, but I knew a few guys who did and they sounded awesome. Pioneer, Alpine, Rockford Fosgate, and Kenwood all have really crappy entry level speakers, but also sell more expensive higher end speakers. Right now I have Pioneer 4-way 6.5's in my truck. Zero bass response but awesome mids and highs. But I also have a Kicker 8 inch sub that I got from Tobias, so that makes up for them not having any bass output. Hands down the best sounding speakers I ever owned were a set of Altec 6x9's, and the best subwoofers I ever had were some 10" Cerwin Vegas.

I forgot to add that I put a touchscreen HU in a little over a month ago. I've tossed around the idea of running them on a amp, but haven't set anything in stone.

I would recommend going with 6.5" components at least up front, they make adapters for them. I am running a set now, they sound a lot better than the 6x8 the I originally had there so i just moved those to the back

If there is anyway you can listen to a few different brands, I'd recommend it. I know it may be in a sound board but... at least you can compare.
That being said, anything over 10 year old OEM is going to be an improvement.

I've listened to some at Best Buy to get a good comparison. Just curious as to see everyone's experience's with different brands.
