So the factory door speakers have finally takin a shizit. I'm wanting to upgrade them with some nice component speakers/tweeters. I'd like to stay under $100 if all possible unless they're worth the extra $$. I've looked at Alpine, Kicker, and Rockford Fosgate. Speaker size is 6x8.

I personally think every Rockford speaker I have ever heard sounded terrible. Kicker is a tad better (sound quality wise). Those brands are all about being loud at all costs. I haven't had any experience with Alpine speakers.

IF you are looking for sound quality, I'd check out Polk audio or Infinity. Their stuff isn't priced much differently but they stress quality over ear splitting.

Just my take.

Agree with 'Bonez though I would lean towards the Polk side a tad

I like MB Quart too. I have them in my truck. They can get a little pricey but they sound very good.

MB Quart has my vote. I'm loyal to them to a fault. Infinity if I had to choose something else.

I thought the says of putting components in my vehicles were well behind me but I've been tossing around the idea of some upgrades in the truck. I'm going to keep an eye on this thread. I'm sure there is plenty of new, quality stuff out that I'm not aware of.

Those would be a giant upgrade from factory speakers for sure!
