We had two different VW beatles, and two VW squarebacks. I remember mom driving the last squareback and it breaking a connecting rod. My uncle fixed it for super cheap from what I remember. Then we had a 79 Rabbit diesel which was a cool economy car that I took my drivers test on. I learned to drive in the SB and on dad's 64 chevy stepside pickup with a 3 on the tree and a straight 6 when I was 12. Dad would take me out and let me drive.
Here is a squareback looks like. I don't have a photo of ours now. Mom does back in Pa.

I remember my dad bought a green and white 73 Chevy Cheyenne the day the new body style came out. Pretty similar to this but his was a lighter green. He had a 1969 C10 prior to that.

My mom had a 1980 Impala Wagon. Baby blue, 350 diesel. I wish I could buy that car back now :(

My mom had this same exact car, but with a 350 gas engine. And it was a 78.
Before that she had a 70's Ford LTD that I barely remember. After she threw a rod in the Impala she got a 83 Cutlass Supreme 4 door. She got a 85 Bonneville a few years later. She loved the Bonneville the most but she missed the big Impala wagon too. So she sold the Bonneville and bought a 84 Bonneville wagon. I learned to drive in that wagon, so did 2 of my brothers. She kept that wagon till around 2000 when she got a 95 Astro Van. My dad has had so many vehicles that I can't even remember them all.

First car I remember my folks driving was a 1960 Ford Galaxie similar to this...

That car was about as wide as it was long. At the time, I had 3 sisters still living at home. Too bad my dad didn't buy a Starliner like this instead.... :(
Guess it wasn't practical on the mud miles back on the farm...

In 1967, he then bought a '66 Ford Galaxie like this...see a trend here?...
My sisters were excited cuz it had a 352 cu in under the hood and an pushbutton AM radio.... I still remember the old man telling the salesman..."You want $2000 for a used Ford?"

Soo...in 1973, dad decided to drop the Blue Oval and go Chevy...

He bought a new 1973 Chevelle Laguna 2 door coupe that stickered for $4319. I bought it from the folks when I went to high school...it topped out at only 112 mph... :lame:
It was just like this except it had a red vinyl roof...

When the old man sold that car to me, he bought another Chevy, a 4-door '72 Impala with the "family" 400 under the hood. For a land yacht, it was a blast to drive...
It was just like this one except it was dark forest green...

First car my parents had when i was born was dads cherry red 65 mustang with a 66 front clip. (Hit a cow or something with it) Then he had a orange 66 mustang that he traided for a off white 68 ford 1/2 ton. I learned to drive that a little bit but was to young to reach the peddles. And mom had a 70 something LTD 4 door. That was a bout and ahalf. Other cars included a red 68 nova 4 door, a 79 ford ecolonine van, and finally the one i bought from my mom when i was 16 a 77 olds cutlass 2door. I would love to find the olman another 66 mustang again or the ol 68 ford.

My old man had a 69 chevelle SS when I was a kid. He's had Ford trucks ever since. My mom on the other hand hasn't ever had anything very cool. I used to rip donuts in an old tbird she had when I was in high school. Ill see if I can dig up a pic of the chevelle when I get home.
