I would be concerned about water in the front and rear diff's. Trans breather is usually high up the firewall but the diff's are usually only as high as the frame rails. Otherwise as long as the water isn't flowing really hard it should be do-able at a slow pace.:dunno:

The front diff breather may be up by the radiator core support... That's where mine is...

But your rear diff one will be tied to the rear axle...

If you're unlucky, like me... The trans vent will be attatched to the top of the transmission... and non-extendable :(

Also, make sure your door seals are in good shape!

I know my 2wd in 2 ft of water was starting to float and slide sideways on the rocky bottom of our Wapiti river.
My Suggestions (some learned from hard learned mistakes)
1: Walk the path your going to drive ( allows you to look for stuff (or holes) that you cant see because it is submerged. And give you an exact calculation on depth.
2: Start upstream from exit point (the current can sometimes push you down stream)
3: Enter water SLOWLY(hard learned mistake)
4: Tread lightly....dont do any more damage to river bottom than neccasary( you WILL have to come this way again:uhoh:)
Add this together with the added vent lines, greasing, Door seal checks, and air intake height check and it should be all good:thumbs:

Yeah, my 4 wheeler never did that either. Plus, I have plenty of extra weight in the bed...currently 2 in the bed tool boxes full of tools.

The river is pretty clear water, easy to see the bottom of it.
2: Start upstream from exit point (the current can sometimes push you down stream) Can't start upstream, unfortunately. There is a limited crossing space due to a lot of trees.
3: Enter water SLOWLY(hard learned mistake)
4: Tread lightly....dont do any more damage to river bottom than neccasary( you WILL have to come this way again:uhoh:) The bottom is all rocks, and pretty well set. I've been through it every year for about 5 years on the atv, and I have never found a decent hole to fall in.
Add this together with the added vent lines, greasing, Door seal checks, and air intake height check and it should be all good:thumbs: This is what I need to do...all of it. Luckily I have no carpet inside the truck, so water inside won't be too much of an issue, unless I get the amp wet.

Thanks guys, good input!

Sounds like a fun time. I love camping, just hard to find a time when everyone can get away for a weekend. Depending on the type of camping we want to do we either go to Elephant Butte to drink and have a good time with one of my friend's cousin's camper or down some random road around Cloudcroft if we want to go real camping.

As long as you don't stop, and your door seals are good you won't have any water come inside anyway
Trust me.

I worry about water in the hub assemble. I never go in water that is deep enough to touch my lug nuts.

Now the farm truck....as long as it runs, its not that deep. I have taken it in water deep enough to touch the bottom of the mirrors, and havent had a problem. :fingersx:

Oh yeah, there would probably be another vehicle going, a VW Touareg or a SUV-wanna be Jeep thingy (no way am I gonna try to fit 6 people and 3 dogs in my truck). I'll be sure and post vids/pics of me pulling them up/off rocks...should be entertaining.
You mean a Subaru
