I know my 2wd in 2 ft of water was starting to float and slide sideways on the rocky bottom of our Wapiti river.
My truck never did that...
Yeah, my 4 wheeler never did that either. Plus, I have plenty of extra weight in the bed...currently 2 in the bed tool boxes full of tools.
1: Walk the path your going to drive ( allows you to look for stuff (or holes) that you cant see because it is submerged. And give you an exact calculation on depth.
The river is pretty clear water, easy to see the bottom of it.
2: Start upstream from exit point (the current can sometimes push you down stream)
Can't start upstream, unfortunately. There is a limited crossing space due to a lot of trees.
3: Enter water
SLOWLY(hard learned mistake)
4: Tread lightly....dont do any more damage to river bottom than neccasary( you WILL have to come this way again

)
The bottom is all rocks, and pretty well set. I've been through it every year for about 5 years on the atv, and I have never found a decent hole to fall in.
Add this together with the added vent lines, greasing, Door seal checks, and air intake height check and it should be all good
This is what I need to do...all of it. Luckily I have no carpet inside the truck, so water inside won't be too much of an issue, unless I get the amp wet.
Thanks guys, good input!
