Sorry guys, I was at the Yankees/Red Sawx game last night (most fun baseball game I've ever been to, my voice is shot, and I have to sing tonight with my band... :uhoh: )

So Wednesday. I got all the exhaust adapters cut and measured, drove to the exhaust shop, and just to double check, I asked the guy if the Y pipe was stainless. He said it was. Shit. I'm not set up to weld stainless. So I had to drive the truck, with about 18" of pipe after the manifolds, no bed, no tail lights/blinkers about 35 minutes on the highway to the shop.

Somehow I didn't run into any cops, and got away with it. So I'm out $100, and some pride, but the cats are in. :dunno:

Yesterday, I got up early, and my Dad and I started stripping the frame. We were planning on doing all the prep work before we left for the game, putting on a coat of paint when we got home (which ended up being 3am not 1am), and then another coat today, letting it dry, then putting everything back together.

Well, the stripping process took a LOT longer than we expected, so I sucked it up, and called it quits. The bed will be put back on today, the frame will stay bare metal for Carlisle, and get painted next weekend.

I wasn't able to re-route the exhaust either, but I did cut the tips off, and it's pretty much invisible. With the new cats, I think the exhaust is going to be too loud on the highway, so I'm waiting to see whether I'm going to swap mufflers or not. If I am, then I'll be re-routing the exhaust with new pipe.

So basically, everything I planned on doing this weekend, I got started on, then ran into some problems, and couldn't do it. :rollin:

Oh, there it is. Or at least I think that's it.

Razor blade, steel wool, WD40, and a pressure washer.

The bed's back on, just got back from NYC, and I'm getting ready to drive out to Carlisle.

Later!
