That frame looks a lot better already. Why are you cutting the cats?

Putting in some Magnaflow Hi-flow cats. These had 182k+ on them, smell like rotten eggs when I get on it at all, and the exhaust smells like an old muscle car at idle.

I thought the stuff had broken out of one of them, but the rattling I heard was just the O2s. With the amount the truck stunk though, something had to be wrong with them.

What are you talking about..that hitch is salvageable.. just get a small bottle of black touch-up paint and you're good.

In all seriousness..damn Dan, that looks like a ton of work (removing your bed)..

Have you tried that rust reformer stuff? Pretty neat stuff, I used that on any rust spots underneath my truck and it sealed any rust and converted it into a paintable surface. I brushed it on my axle, leaf springs, blocks, front lower control arms, waited 4 hrs then brushed over it with gloss black RUST STOP paint.

The POR15 stuff that I'm using is does basically the same thing, except it's paint as well. It just neutralizes the rust or something. :dunno:

And the bed wasn't that much work actually, only 8 bolts. The hitch was the worst part by far so far.

+1 FOR POR15 Great stuff. Wire wheel the loose stuff off and paint it on or run it through a gun. You can reduce it enough to spray it. Works great!

Eh, was turned off by the specific instructions POR gives you, stuff sounds difficult to work with/store..etc, the rust reformer was very easy to use..but I could see one coat vs RR + Paint saving lotsa time.
