12.17@111 n/a with a 1.68 60ft
11.29@117 with a small 100 shot

Those are some nice times. I would think you could do a little better with a badass big cam, big stall 5.3 and say a 150 shot.

Fo Sho. His headers aren't the greatest either. I'm guessing it puts 300 to the wheels N/A? It would be nice if he put it on the rollers.
I wasn't going to go through that whole thread but does he list his weight? Also are you going to run 243 heads on your 5.3? I would think a full bolt on, big cam, milled heads 5.3 could put down in the 360-370 range.

On a scale it was 2820 without him in it, 1/4 tank of gas iirc.

Dunno about the heads. It's going to have whatever heads it comes with for a while so probably 846's. With the size of the cam it would be a good idea to get them milled tho. Might look into an LS6 intake too. I forget all of the intake data, but if this thing is going to spin to 7000 or higher I don't think the truck intake will be a good idea.

If it can make 350 it should trap around 115 N/A

Well in that case then make sure you get an 07+ 5.3 as they came with 243/799 heads.
An LS6 intake would be a good budget intake but you might be able to snag a fast 90 or 92 since everyone seems to be going with the 102 now.

I'll have to see what motors my hookup has when I'm ready to buy. The reason I was set on the older and lame 5.3's is because they cost nothing...I'd like to max out this N20 kit.

I hate the LSx intake market! No way $1000 is worth it  I will make it up with n20. Unless the FAST 90's have come down seriously. Even then if I get an N20 backfire there's a chance of blowing the intake, so LS6 might be more ideal.

Yeah those fasts are ridiculous. I guess an LS6 intake is the way to go. I think Dan has brought this up in the past but the 03 and before (I think that is the correct year) still has the cable throttle body and not the DBW setup. Get a dirt cheap older 5.3 short block and snag some milled 243 and that motor will be one sick little rocket.

It has to be before 03 because the truck is an 03 and is DBW. Speaking of Dan he has a wiring harness but I think it's DBW. I'm not sure what would be involved with making DBW work with a swap like this, even with a DBW TB. I'm not even sure if that sounds incredibly dumb or not because I've been studying so much the last few days if it doesn't have numbers it doesn't make since to me

Definitely isn't worth what it puts to the wheels, esp when you have a power adder. The LS6's were going for $300 and are good for 15 iirc...and they don't look like bigfoot's ass like the truck intakes

Everytime I take my engine cover off I want to cry when I see the truck intake on there. *Engine cover stays on...*

I think it's possible to build a better looking intake manifold with a set of legos. Since it's a truck people don't expect to see a nice engine like they do with cars :dunno:
