okay, here's the tailgate so far.

before sanding... the gray was a patch where i sprayed the primer to check the color. i want the whole truck to be that gray, with black bed lettering/rockers/flares/bumpers.

Taking off the badge... to be put back on later

some pics after sanding down through a lot of rust and really bad rattle-can red... i discovered the truck was originally about the same color as 89eliminator's rig.

Enough work for one night... time to tackle the alternator and battery tomorrow.

Nope, those are stock AMC Jeep wheels, before Chrysler bought them. And Buck, that's my dad's old '84 Silverado 1500 in the background, with a 1971 400cid smallblock swap and 4.10s at each end.
