New or Used?

my last two purchases were new, but the first three were used. I will continue to buy new if ican afford it the time.

This is actually my first truck. I bought used because I couldn't afford new. I wanted a crew cab truck, but could not find a new or even a low mileage used one in my budget. Thats how I settled on the Burban.

I've never been able to afford to buy new,maybe someday though. I kinda prefer used trucks because Im not all paranoid about a scratch or dent. I use my truck as it was designed( and definately not designed) to be used. Im a pretty good horse trader so finding cheap used vehicles in good shape usually isnt to hard for me......Ive got 2 project trucks coming that I got REALLY good deals on.....theyll be in a new thread once I get them home.

Mostly new but I wouldn't mind buying used if I found one that had all the options I want and was well maintained.

Only ever bought one vehicle, and it was used, because I was 16 at the time.

Once I'm out of college and looking for a DD, I'll probably look in the ~1-2 year old range, just so I don't take the initial depreciation hit.

I like getting the projects truck for free. I buy used 98 and older. If want to change the exhaust its 1980 and older.

So far I have bought new, my first was a stripped down 1993 GMC Sonoma 4x4. I traded it in on my current ride. I plan on keeping this one for at least 5 more years and see where the economy goes. If all goes well I will get a new truck if I can afford it.

I'm just too poor to buy a new vehicle.

I did get lucky with mine though, it still had 6 months on the warranty.

As of lately I have been swayed for buying new mostly because of the gm discount that is available to me. Also some friends like Mcdiver that lead me to a friendship with the fleet manager at Hendrick Chevrolet allows you to buy new for the price of used!

I voted other because I am not opposed to buying new but most of the time it does not make financial sense. In some cases it does but in my latest purchase, my current silverado, I bought it certified used and right at a year old for $20,000 less than an identical new one would sticker for. I know with incentives and rebates I would never pay sticker but I doubt I would have got anywhere near 20,000 off of a new truck at the time I was buying.
