New or Used?

I generally buy used with low mileage so someone else takes the depreciation hit on them. I am really picky when it comes to vehicles, so if there is any indications that they have had any abuse I will not buy them. If I get a good enough deal, I am not opposed to buying new, though. Last new truck was an 05 Silverado when they had the employee pricing deals going plus other incentives. Bought my wife's SUV new last year cause they made me the best deal, otherwise would have probably gone used then too.

I buy used. I'm not tearing up a new truck in my business. Besides, money's tighter than a white guy in prison.

Maybe it's my poor upbringing, but I don't understand the new vehicle thing.

We got her Impala with a year and 25,000 miles on it. At least 15k under the price for a new one. And my 1 year old truck with 15k on it was a good 20k under the price a new truck.

That's 35 grand right there. Now I can't tell you what I've done with that 35 grand but . . .

I mainly buy new vehicles, but have had a couple used ones. I normally keep vehicles for a fairly long time so it gives me lots of time to save and plan for a buying new and getting exactly what I want on the vehicle. The used ones I have had were were a year or less old, and like new.
