Exactly what I was about to post... there are a lot of information out there about how to get them out without cracking the plugs... BUT I've heard a lot of guys who crack a few of them and are getting charged out the wazoo... now if you can do it yourself and follow the TSB's then you might be okay... But I could be wrong, but if you wanted to steer clear of the plug problem I think if you went with an 07' or newer you would be okay.. I think the 04-06's were having the majority of the problems

Other than that I thought an 04+ would be a great choice for you! I've got an 05' with 65k with supercharged since practically new and its been running strong sense.

Just like the GM's or dodges... tuner makes it night & day with the the 5.4L.. Some people have said that the 5.4L is underpowered but I would have to disagree.. the 4.6 might be a little sluggish, but plenty of lifted with bigger tires out there running 4.6 just fine but most have regeared

Seems a lot of people are having problems with the window (up/down) button on the trucks.. like the contact points build up a lot of carbon and just need to be cleaned... but that's all I can think of right now...

I really like the body style of those trucks.... especially the crew-cab versions.

Check and see if the spark plugs have been changed on any 04 - 07 5.4L engine. 4.6L do not have the problem, only 3v 5.4Ls. If not, have the dealer do it if you agree to buy it and replace with the 2008+ better Motorcraft plugs.

All of the features you stated on page 1 mean you will want a Lariat pkg, 07 - 08 FX4 Luxury pkg, or a King Ranch. 5.4L, with the 3.73LSD ( axle code B6 ) you will love it. Best powertrain. Handles 33s and 35s just well. 2005s were known for a faulty injector issue, but anything over 30k miles would most likely have the issue fixed as it happened early in 2005 5.4Ls lives. The brakes seem to be a weak point in these trucks, 2004 - 2006 have been known for seizing calipers up front ( my drivers size left one is actually, and has been for months, cant afford to fix it, until a couple weeks when my job pays me more ) anyways thats probably going to be your only powertrain fix, if ball joints are in fine working condition. Throw on some new pads and rotors while your at it and you'll be set for them 35s.

I think it looks 10x better than the Silverado, and the Ram (old models). New ones, not so much. :lol:

The year range you're looking at, Ford does NOT have a locker, only LSD.

They're not bad trucks all around.

Gas mileage seems to be either really good, or really bad from the people I've talked to... No real inbetween :dunno:

did someone say :ford: ? make sure you get truck that works for you.. dont go the 4.6 route if you can help it.. Screw cab/5.5 ft box for the win
