Not if you put a 4.6 or a new 5.0. Tons of aftermarket parts are available.

And still cheaper than a sbc? I find that hatd to believe, I know there are plenty of parts but there is no way they are cheaper.

Are you planning on doing this to your Ford? If that's your plan I would buy a chevy truck to build as a track truck. Why? Because you can go faster for far less money. Way more go fast parts available for chevy small blocks or ls based engines.

Yes, my grey Ford. I've always wanted to build a 3rd gen 80-87 Chevy C/K. My aunt had one and I fell in love with that truck. Unfortunetly, she sold it to her son who rolled it while drinking and driving  I'm not trying to soup it up and make it super fast, just a fun toy I can take to the track and see what she's got. If I had the cash I'd find a cheap chevy in decent shape and drop an LS whatever in.

I would just hate to see you chop your Ford for saving weight and all. But in the end it is your truck and you should do what you want, not what a bunch of yaw hoo's on the interwebs say.

I'm not worried about hackin it up, it's stayin in the family. Everything will kinda come to me once I get to it. My plans are to mostly repair/replace stuff. I probably won't be cuttin much stuff out. But I do appreciate the input Red, I know you guys don't mean anything

Looking for a set of 94-96 factory wheels to put on. Thinking about going down a size in tires too :dunno:

Cranked the old gal up yesterday and let er run for a little bit. Still trying to figure out what's wrong with it. Checked the timing and it hasn't jumped. Pulled the plugs and it's a little overdue for a change :ohnoes:Gonna get some new ones and probably a set of wires. It's in dire need of a big tune up!!

Well this truck is about to get some serious love. Grandpa loved this truck, said it was the sharpest truck he's ever seen :D This truck will be built in his memory, and i'll race it like he was right there in the passenger seat.

First thing tomorrow is new plugs. Thinkin about ordering some new wires too, something cheap but really good. Might go with Jegs wires. Gonna fix all the leaks, replace all the gaskets/seals, etc. gonna get her runnin good before I start on other projects. I'll be posting heavy in here so stay tuned!
