Found a leak .. Power steering pump was dripping a drop every half hour ..
Being the pump is 50 years time was for a rebuild kit ..

Got lucky with having all the hard parts still serviceably ...

Pump pulley came in, jumped to with installing it on the motor ..

Encountered a problem with belt tracking, the pump was sitting on the water pump crooked ...
Didn't have this problem with the cast iron water pump, figured there is something up with it ??

I decided not to try to fix it and use a different mounting system for the power steering pump ..

The mount bolts to the engine block, do think this will be the easiest cure and net good belt tracking ..
You've had to jump more hurdles than an olympic track star.

Made a bit of progress ..

Painted the valve covers .. Ordered the three grommets, tried to find them locally but being off of a mid-70's Chevy Van (Oil filler tube) they seemed to have been obsoleted ..
My new best bud 'Google' found them for me ... Lol

In the mist of putting the column together .. Got all the needed machine work done, paint and polish is left to do ...

Man, that was a PITA chore to do ... And a huge expense !
Sure do like how it turn out, I gotta say ... That wood steering wheel was icing on the cake ..

Cruise control, and the button on the tilt lever for controlling the power cowl vent wiring will be run inside the column ..

This just might turn out looking fairly nice .... ??
