I want this truck

While it is a nice truck, and appears to be in good condition, it is still a 20 year old ex-military vehicle equipped with what were considered basic options even in it's day. There is no way that truck is worth $12k in "real" market terms (not saying somebody won't pay that). It probably only stickered in the low $20's brand new (and probably cost the military $16k). PERSONALLY, I wouldn't pay over $5k for it, even in EXCELLENT condition.

Looks good but it needs a Duramax diesel swapped in. A 1 ton with a smallblock is kind of a joke

Ford used to run the crap out of the 5.4 in the big trucks too...

They still do. Ive driven a few F250's with 5.4's and they have no balls at all.

Its adequate in my 1/2 ton but even then it doesnt seem extremely powerful.

I miss my old 350 trucks. Man I could turn tires into instant smoke in those trucks... they sounded better with custom exhaust too. As good as the LS series engines are, they will never outdo the old 350 in my book.

While the LS engines will never sound as good as a 350, performance wise, they're the better engine.

Unless you want low end torque... In which case, stock for stock, the 350 will whip the pants off an LS any day of the week
