That is a pretty good idea but I like my dash mounts for videos more because the camera adjusts to the outside lighting better IMO. I should upload the instructions on another thread.

But I'll be building one like that aswell.

That looks like a great mount!

I do have a question :jester: Any of you know how to get a mount for a DroidX attached to something like that?

I have been wanting a more study mount for my phone to take videos while driving and this looks like it will work if I can figure out how to mount the camera part? :dunno:

I have two phone mounts like this: (one attached to a bean bag thing and one attached to a suction cup) They have way too much bounce in them

That's cool. I like the idea for the same reason. Unfortunately for me, I don't think my big DSLR and lens combo will fit up there.

The Motorola Droid X car dock. You have to take off the case, but it works perfectly for recording while you drive. I strongly considered one:

This guy has his aimed up, but you get the idea.

Thanks Matt.

I was just looking at one of those. I am not too keen about taking its case off though :dunno:

Same reason I didn't go that way. I'm about to pull the trigger on the Verizon case that has the kickstand.

Also, it's much easier to throw my SD card in the laptop as opposed to uploading videos from the X. Doesn't take as long and it won't kill the phone battery.

Great writeup!
Thanks, man!

Hmmm, from the comercials they have about a dozen mechaincal spider legs, I guess that was false advertising? :jester:

Great info everyone! Those mounts are sweet.

I'd make one but I need a camera that takes video's first. The one I have is super old and doesn't do well at all.

That looks real sweet Matt! Very creative. I like. I may try one in my spare time. This has always been my rear seat camera mount.. a little bulky, yes..
