Hey I'm glad to see you joined up over here! Also glad to see you ended up getting the 14" after hearing my 18" but am sorry you're having issues with some drone. I don't know about rotating the muffler so the 'oval' is vertical but that is how mine was welded in by the shop. Granted I realize mine is 4" longer but I've had no issues with drone. I'll have to go for a ride with you sometime this coming semester!

Well I have the Magnaflow 12468. It drones with my big block but not as bad as the Flowmaster 50 series big block muffler. I do like the sound of the magnaflow alot better. It has a deeper tone to it. It drones the most at about 1700-2000 rpm. Get above that and it quiets down. Of course it a Dual in And Dual out 2.5 inch muffler. Has more torque now for sure. Just my experience.

Put a 4" or 5" round body Magnaflow in front of it, or switch to the 18" body.

Are you running a tailpipe or is it dumped under the bed? I'm running longtubes and no cats along with a 14' magnaflow dumped under bed with no drone.
Well I had a resonator installed yesterday in front of my Flowmaster...I couldn't take it anymore. 
Cost me 52 bucks.
It's given the drone, a different tone it seems!
I'll let you know more as I drive it. It still sounds good!
