I got 16.3 on my 93 F/S Ext/Cab 5.7 with 3.42 gears going around 67-72 mph im hoping it doesn't get worse now with my 3.73 gears that were installed today with my Auburn posi rearend.

It will drop a bit at 67-72 mph. It's a math thing.

There may be a slight increase in city mileage, however :D
Provided you can keep your foot out of the throttle...

Don't know how it happened but I got 18 on the way back and I was going faster. Maybe the other tire helped push it easier. LOL No for real guys it did do better and I know the math is correct.

Have you had your speedometer re-calibrated?? :dunno:
Changing the rear gears will throw it off.
It will show more miles than you actually traveled...:)

My speedo is 3-4 miles off so if my speedo is at 70 im going 67 I checked with my GPS. I can live with it as long as im under what my speedo says im fine. I know I did better on mpg but im thinking because of the wind. Now my trans is a 4L60E from what I have heard I need to get a chip burned to fix my speedo but im running a chip already I bet Hypertech could redo it. Right?? Thanks for the info buddy.

My bro (coalitioncontrols)just sent me a email of a snapshot of the fuel economy he got a road trip yesterday. Pretty damn good for an 08 duramax. I just wonder how much methanol was required to get it!

It works out to 34.75mpg (in imperial) and 29.1 mpg (US)
