It appears they made a 6.0L 366CI BBC. Interesting.

I had a couple of the 366 engines in some dump trucks several years ago.
they are HELL TOUGH engines..

And they are BIG BLOCKS...:)

The 366 Big block V-8 (6.0 L) gasoline engine was used only in Chevrolet Medium duty trucks and in school buses. It had a bore of 3.935" and a stroke of 3.760". This engine was made from the 1960s until the mid-1990s. The 366 used 3 compression rings on the pistons as it was designed from the very beginning a truck engine. The 366 was only produced as a tall deck engine with a 0.400" taller deck than the 396, 402, & 454 short deck big blocks.

Wonder if anyone used this block as mod engine or just went for the standard deck blocks?

There was also a TALL DECK 427...
I had one in a dump truck.
I know of a couple of guys that put them in pickups... they were TORQUE monsters, with a little cam work and the right kind of headers.

So you think "OFTEN" is every 100,000 miles??? :dunno:

Seems like I think so. But it can be more because of a personal preference for compression-ignited engines than any other thing. BTW usually due to the lower quality of fuels avaliable where I live a spark plug would barely last 50000 miles...

Well that Blows....

I either snapped the pinion gear or tore up the ring gear today... It was on start up leaving a job for lunch that went like: Going, Going, Jult, tires skid, Snap, bump(where there was no bump probably related to the stop, gas, gas and rev, and no moving anywhere...

Now I am looking for a cheap replacement but its going to be costly fo shizzle...

From the GM its $1300 with a hefty discount...

:wtf:

These days suck...

Sucks to hear Brian. :(

What all needs replacing?

I don't know yet. I haven't taken it apart yet but I am guessing at least the pinion and ring gear...

If I can get the parts for around $400 I would do that but I am finding complete rear ends for $950 or less with a $400-500 core.

If that's the case it makes more sense buying a new rear end...

Its Model # 19050T 36 spline... 6.57
