The gassers are definitely cheaper to repair but the torque difference in the diesel is more than noticeable.

Gassers can be cheaper to repair, but since they would need repairs more constantly it's not so cost-effective.

Just being a gasser doesn't mean it'll need more work than a diesel...
It's all about regular maintenance.

The 6.0 is a rock solid engine.

Considering it has a spark-ignition system it will require spark plugs to be replaced often. And even being a rock-solid engine, diesels are usually more reinforced since they have higher internal pressures.

So we picked up the truck last night. My brother thinks that the 6.0 that it is equipped with is in a big block platform. He is basing that on the topkicks say BB all over the internet.

I did not think the 6.0 was offered in a Bb platform making it a sb.

Anyone have any insight.

So you think "OFTEN" is every 100,000 miles??? :dunno:

The 366 Big block V-8 (6.0 L) gasoline engine was used only in Chevrolet Medium duty trucks and in school buses. It had a bore of 3.935" and a stroke of 3.760". This engine was made from the 1960s until the mid-1990s. The 366 used 3 compression rings on the pistons as it was designed from the very beginning a truck engine. The 366 was only produced as a tall deck engine with a 0.400" taller deck than the 396, 402, & 454 short deck big blocks.

Wonder if anyone used this block as mod engine or just went for the standard deck blocks?
