OH...i'm mistaken I thought it was a 3.6l V6

Weird, cause ford doesn't even put the 5.4L in a truck anymore...Not a big fan of diesels, but I'm even less a fan of V6's. I say go for the diesel.
Its a turbo v-6 that makes more power than any N/A 5.4 ever did, with better milage
We are going to drive another eco-boost today to put some serious miles on it
i drove one the other day, and at the end of the day its still a ford so its not that great
it drives like any other 5.4 did
I drove the eco-boost again today, put 30 miles on it, and its definitely faster than any 5.4 truck that isnt my lightning
I don't know what ford you're driving, but I think its the wrong one. I can install pretty much any part on a ford as easy as GM, and even faster when we talk lift kits...RIGGS. Cut the Ford bashing bullshit. If you wanna do that crap take it to a GM fanboy forum.
am i the only one here that has driven any f150 ever? way under powered, makes all sorts of creaks / noises, uncomfortable to sit / drive, not to mention almost anything after market is 10x harder to put on than it needs to be..
im just stating my opinion
You realize the dash is customizable? You can pretty much anything you want there.go get in a new f150 ext cab and close the door, the rear door doesn't shut correctly in any of them and the whole thing is loose as and now every time you turn the key you get to watch a display basically showing you a ford ad on the dash
and unless its a platinum edition it doesn't look that great either
Again, the 5.4 isnt even and option, and that slow, tiny 3.5L turbo walked two 5.3's today, my tahoe with 3.42's and my buddy's 03 GMC.i like 04-08 way better than the 09+, although the 5.4 is still a under-powered motor, and the 6.0 / 6.4 powerstroke isnt a great alternative, the 6.7 is actually pretty decent but still designed pretty halfass, way over engineered
Trust me, I like gm, but their half tons are just not as good.
Just for your comment on the dodge and gm towing vs the ford....All I ask is that we don't any of us talk shit about other brands. You know we are easy to get a long with here.
ok well i know from experience from driving a 3.6 f150 platinum edition 2 days ago that the power sucks, say at a stop sign you have no power and then when you get to about 1500-2000 rpm (5-10 mph) the turbo finally kicks in and it drives normal, it would be terrible pulling a trailer of any weight. sure its rated for more doesn't mean it will do that much. that would be like gm putting there all new frame on the 2500s with a 5.3 in it, sure it will haul more but it will do it way less efficient, just really not a fan of the new f150's i would look at a new dodge before a ford. and if you dont use the truck for anything than going grocery shopping and taking your kids to soccer practice than a 3.6 would be perfect for you

A 3.6 and you expected power![]()
The 3.5L v6 with turbos makes 365HP and 420 FT/lbs of torque @ 2500 rpm...
which is 3 ft/lbs more than the 6.2L, gm's biggest motor and almost 2000 rpm sooner. So, you can bag on the fords all you want, but they make a good truck. Nothing against GM at all, I drive one all the time.
Half tons make great daily drivers. My wife, like yours, would never drive anything smaller than our current 4 door Tahoe, for sureShe has always loved driving my 2500s, but always comes back around and tells me that parking them at the grocery store, etc is kind of a bitch
She is wanting a new half ton crew cab.
Good luck with your decision man!
you might as well start kissing dudes if you buy the eco boost
Dusten, You said you were going to drive both trucks today. What did you decide you liked better?

The powerstroke has more power, but not a huge amount more(or should I say it accelerates better). The interior is a bit bigger, which is kind of nice. The 1/2 ton rides better, steering has more feeling, and I think they stop better. the eco-boost is cheaper to drive, and I can get one for almost 10,000 less with all the options being the same from truck to truck. I would rather have the 1/2 ton. My wife still isnt sure which she wants, and got knows when she'll decide.
The dealership commented that they've sold about 5 eco-boosts in the past 3 days, so while riggs doesn't like them, it seems a lot of other people do.
But its okay riggs, i get it, i'd be pissed off if i was driving a god damn 8 year old v8 with piss poor mileage, no low end power, and gets its doors sucked off by a v6 ford product.
